Overview
EnteroMedics® Inc. (NASDAQ: ETRM) has developed a novel medical device with the potential to advance weight loss treatment and address the growing global health crises associated with obesity and its co-morbidities, such as diabetes and hypertension. EnteroMedics is committed to advancing the scientific, medical and commercial potential of VBLOC® vagal blocking therapy, the Companys proprietary neuroblocking technology, to benefit patients, health care providers and stakeholders around the world. EnteroMedics was incorporated in Minnesota in December 2002 under the name Beta Medical, Inc. In 2003, the Company changed its name to EnteroMedics Inc. and in 2004 reincorporated in Delaware. EnteroMedics began trading on the NASDAQ Stock Market on November 15, 2007 and continues to be traded on the NASDAQ today under the ticker symbol ETRM.
