EnteroMedics is Added to the Russell 3000(R) Index

ST. PAUL, Minn., Jun 30, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- EnteroMedics Inc. (NASDAQ: ETRM), the developer of medical devices using neuroblocking technology to treat obesity and other gastrointestinal disorders, announced today that it was added to the Russell 3000(R) Index on June 26, 2009.

Annual reconstitution of Russell's U.S. indexes captures the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks, ranking them by total market capitalization. EnteroMedics' membership in the Russell 3000 is effective for one year and results in automatic inclusion in the small-cap Russell 2000 Index as well as relevant growth and value indexes. An industry-leading $4 trillion in assets are currently benchmarked to the Russell indexes.
